The digital age, with its constant flood of images and information, often prevents us from separating the wheat from the chaff. By pixelating his works, Ced Vernay forces us to linger on their composition and appropriate their aesthetics. Each viewer is thus obliged to make their own focal point, centered around the icons of our time.
The greater the distance that the viewer takes from Vernay’s works, the clearer their perspective on the image. From close up we discover the technique and infinite patience that his work requires. From afar, we rediscover the portrait in its clarity.
As part of this exhibition, the Hôtel de Gallifet has chosen to present work from different periods, highlighting the creative richness of Vernay's creations, including digital painting, oil painting and collage. The large walls of the exhibition halls will also welcome his fragmented installations, which will be presented to the public for the first time.
