The paper is a medium for poets' verses. But it is also poetic material and a subject of poetry. Its fragile grace continues to touch and inspire contemporary artists. In their hands, origami, washi paper, collages, cut-outs or sculptures become multitudes of paper poems. It is around this theme that a selection of artists will display their works at the Hôtel de Gallifet from 6 March to 31 March 2013, offering us the Paper Poems exhibition.
A few words about the PAPer'Art season: Created within the framework of Marseille-Provence 2013 (MP2013) by the GUDGI association of art galleries in Aix-en-Provence, the PAPer'Art season extends throughout this year that is so special for culture. Through the exhibition of works of art and the organisation of events and conferences, this season proposes an exploration in which paper is the central theme. 13 sections will follow on from one another, each tackling a different and surprising dimension of this familiar material, which is still a source of inspiration for contemporary artists today. It is within this framework that the Paper Poems exhibition will be displayed at the Hôtel de Gallifet.
