À l'accélération et à l'oubli

Baptiste Meyniel

Trained as a designer at ENSCI-Les Ateliers, where he graduated in 2017 with highest honors, Baptiste Meyniel places material experimentation at the heart of his practice. His diploma project, "En mouvement, en flux, en variation" (In movement, in flow, in variation), laid the foundations for an approach combining material research with drawing as a tool for conception.

In 2019, he was awarded the international project grant from the CIRVA in Marseille, leading to a two-year residency focused on glass and crystal. In 2021, he was selected for the Hermès Academy of Craftsmanship dedicated to glassmaking. His work has been exhibited at the Frac Champagne-Ardenne, Frac Picardie, Fotokino in Marseille, and the Chapelle des Calvairiennes in Mayenne. A graduate of ENS Cachan with an agrégation in applied arts, he also teaches object design at ENSAAMA.

Baptiste Meyniel conceives his objects as open spaces for experimentation, always in dialogue with artisans, technicians, and users. In collaboration with Benoît Coulpier, he created the "Empreinte" series, using the traditional Lyonnais printing technique. His practice reflects a collective approach to creation, in which the object emerges less as a finished product than as the result of a shared process.
