JBC

The universe of JBC is a symbolic tangle of Latin American baroque art, Soviet realism, idol worship, and paganism in all its forms. The themes of his work resonate with his graphic style that is reminiscent of stained glass, glorifying people, even in the most absurd or trivial situations.

The choice of warm colors and botanical elements highlights the importance of the tropics in the artist's imagination, as a result of his many trips to Latin America. His mediums and materials are varied: walls, street furniture, canvases, objects of all kinds, and other installations. Since 2013, JBC has lived in Montreuil and has a studio at ICI in Montreuil.
