Hôtel de Gallifet and Spring – Agence d’art contemporain present the summer 2022 exhibition, 'Nouvelles Alliances: Coopérations avec le Vivant', which brings together the work of nine young contemporary artists who are all seeking to explore different ways of living with Nature.
Faced with the myriad challenges of climate change and ecological disaster, these artists invite us to rethink how we relate to our surroundings, break down barriers between the natural elements (not only plants but also bacteria, fungi and lichen) and enter into a relation of symbiosis with our environment. Through the diversity of their works we see a set of common themes emerging, overlapping and entwining.
Alice Grenier Nebout, Victor Levai and Sarah Valente celebrate and call for a renewal of our relationship with Nature.
Côme Di Meglio, Charlotte Gautier Van Tour and Jérémy Gobé sculpt with natural elements, highlighting both how close we are to Nature but also investigating our common weaknesses.
Sara Favriau, Romain Langlois and Ariane Michel invite us to reconsider our perceptions of Nature.
Neither despair nor accusation, rather paths towards a better future and glimmers of hope are scattered throughout the exhibition. The show mixes practices and disciplines (painting, sculpture, video, artistic and sound installations) and invites the public to wander through a poetic ecosystem that appeals to all the senses.
Throughout the summer, the exhibition will be accompanied by a varied programme of events from gastronomy, to science and literature, as well as talks with artists, anthropologists and film screenings, all of which aim to widen our horizons and facilitate new discoveries.
This exhibition is part of the summer programme of the Biennale « Une 5ème saison » organised by the city of Aix-en-Provence.
The exhibition is open from Tuesday to Sunday from noon until 6pm.
Full tariff : 6 €
Reduced tariff : 4 € (students, jobseekers, disabled and members)
Free for: holders of ICOM cards, City Pass Aix-en-Provence as well as Pass My Provence and children under 12.
